Call for Participants: DML Mentors

(Thank you to everyone who applied to participate in this year's DML Mentors program at DML2012. The application period is now closed.)

DML Mentors is a low-touch opportunity for junior and senior professionals working in DML to informally meet with and learn from like-minded colleagues during DML2012. Open to individuals from all sectors (researchers, educators, designers, practitioners and "other"), early career ("junior") participants will be matched with more established ("senior") ones based on mutual interest, and then have the opportunity to set up a time (ideally, 45 minutes to an hour) to meet during the conference at their own convenience.

For those early in their careers, this is a great opportunity to connect with some of the more established voices in the field. For those that are more established, this is a great chance to meet emerging voices that may change the way you think about your own work, aside from the benefits your participation will provide them.

As a field, we put great value on communities where learners are provided with active mentorship, where people sometimes occupy the expert role and sometimes the learner role, and where we all always have more to learn. We hope you'll take advantage of this opportunity to put these values into practice.

The application period is now closed. The DML Hub is now working on facilitating introductions, and then you will be able to make your own arrangements to convene.

Please do not hesitate to contact Rafi Santo rsanto@indiana.edu, our DML Mentors Program Liason, or the DML Research Hub dmlhub@hri.uci.edu with any questions.
